Volrix really began from my own frustration as a trader and developer.

I had spent years building trading strategies, backtesting systems, broker integrations, and execution infrastructure. Before Volrix, I built BuildAlgos, a no-code and low-code platform that helped traders test and automate their strategies. When regulatory changes made live trading more difficult, I had to rethink the product.

Around the same time, AI agents were becoming capable of writing code and reasoning through complex problems, but they still did not have access to reliable market data or proper backtesting infrastructure. I realised that instead of making traders learn another platform, we could allow them to research and test strategies directly through the AI tools they were already using.

That became the starting point for Volrix. It began as an MCP server connecting AI agents with our trading data and backtesting engine. I built the first version using the infrastructure and experience I had accumulated over the years, launched it quickly, and started onboarding users manually.

What started as a pivot soon became a much larger idea: building the research and execution infrastructure that allows AI agents to understand financial markets, test ideas, and eventually deploy strategies.
